Homemade Winter Sugar and Clove Body Scrub

Homemade Winter Sugar and Clove Body Scrub—Spa Days at Home

I keep the window open in my bathroom pretty much all through winter. I can’t really give you a valid reason why. I will say that I find the constant circulation of cold air invigorating. Long, hot baths seem just a little bit more satisfying. I also find that the more my bathroom resembles an apothecary with all the DIY beauty recipes I make, the bathroom stays cold enough so I can go ahead and just store these homemade masks and scrubs right on the bathroom shelves.

Cold bathrooms aren’t for everyone, I know, but I’ve yet to meet the person that doesn’t enjoy the occasional soak in the tub. Last night, after a particularly difficult yoga routine, I was in dire need of a relaxing soak. The total utilitarian side of me poured about one and a half cups of Epsom salt into my bath water. However, the decidedly girly girl, hedonist side of me just had to add a little sugar to that spice. This Sugar Clove Body Scrub was just what the doctor ordered. Gentle exfoliation with an amazing seasonal fragrance. Heaven.
