I’ve really been getting into to tea lately. Don’t get me wrong. I’m still a total coffee drinker, but lately I’ve been enjoying a cuppa in the afternoon. Naturally it was only a matter of time before I started to think about smearing tea on my face, because Freud. I already knew that drinking tea has some amazing time-tested health benefits, but I’m totally embracing tea based beauty products.
I’ve been using matcha powder and raw honey in my weekly face mask and I absolutely love it. The matcha powder leaves your skin glowing, while the honey leaves it feeling moisturized. Since I use this mask only once a week, I felt like I should try to incorporate tea into my daily skin care regimen. I started thinking about what other teas I could use, and I got super excited about rooibos. Rooibos is a great source of alpha hydroxy acid and zinc, both of which are excellent for skin.
Aside from rooibos, this recipe also calls for chia seeds. Chia seeds are an amazing little super food jam packed with fatty acids. The addition of chia seeds allows the scrub to gently exfoliate and nourish the skin without stripping it. Unlike other face scrubs, it is gentle enough for daily use.
This scrub is great for all skin types and will address even the peskiest of skin issues. You’ll totally see results after your first use!
