Celebrating National Honey Month!!!

September is National Honey Month! An entire month celebrating the wonderfully diverse gift of nature that is honey! No joke, I’m crazy excited about it. I use honey not only for cooking, but also for everything from treating my allergies to homemade beauty products to home decor (seriously, is there anything prettier than honey jars on a shelf?!). Talk about a superfood! Honey is amazing! Throughout the month of September, I’ll be sharing with you some of my absolute fave honey recipes, products, and home remedies.

In the meantime, check out this super informative article detailing all the glorious facts and nutritional properties of honey!

A Little Website Housekeeping

You may have noticed the all new web design here at Arsenic and Old Place! It’s taken me a little bit longer than I expected to get this thing up and running, but I truly hope you love the new design as much as I do. I’ve been retooling this thing on my own so there might be a few minor mistakes here and there, but rest assured that I’m still plugging away at creating a site that is both beautiful and functional. Remember I’m only an email away if you have any questions or concerns. Thank you all so much for your continued support!

2016 Liebster Award

Liebster Award

Super excited to let you all know that I was nominated (twice) for the 2016 Liebster Award by and I want to thank these ladies from the bottom of my heart. If you haven’t already, you should totally check out, and follow their blogs!

Anyway, The Liebster Award is a way for bloggers to connect and to support each others development. I’ve been tasked with answering the following questions, and in turn I must nominate a few more bloggers. So here goes:

Why did you start blogging? And When?

I started blogging because it has been a lifelong dream of mine to be a professional writer. My best friend encouraged me to just jump in and start blogging last April.

What would be your last meal?

Sheesh! I try not to think about things like that. I suppose it would probably be some kind of stir-fry.

What would you do if you won the lottery tomorrow?

I’d travel to Australia…finally!

Have you ever traveled outside your home country?

I’m from Brooklyn, NY, USA. I’ve been to the Bahamas, Mexico, Canada, France, and Egypt.

If you could have any super power what would it be?

I’m kind of a nerd so I’ve actually given this some thought before. I’d like to be able to heal people physically, emotionally, and mentally.

What is your favorite season?

Summer by far. I really don’t like being cold, and snow is majorly inconvenient.

What did you last eat?

Yogurt and granola.

Favorite Movie?

It depends on my mood. I love Clueless, Arsenic and Old Lace (my inspiration for my blog’s name), the Departed, or Goodfellas.

Describe the perfect day.

That’s a tough one. I just like being productive. I love having a sense of accomplishment at the end of the day.

If you could change one thing about the world what would it be?

Another tough one. I guess the obvious answers are world hunger, war, or disease. I’d do away with suffering.

What is your go to drink?

Coffee. Definitely coffee.

I’d like to nominate:

I think I’ll ask the same questions as above, except I’d like to add one: What’s your favorite genre of music/ favorite musical artist?
