A Little Website Housekeeping

You may have noticed the all new web design here at Arsenic and Old Place! It’s taken me a little bit longer than I expected to get this thing up and running, but I truly hope you love the new design as much as I do. I’ve been retooling this thing on my own so there might be a few minor mistakes here and there, but rest assured that I’m still plugging away at creating a site that is both beautiful and functional. Remember I’m only an email away if you have any questions or concerns. Thank you all so much for your continued support!

2016 Liebster Award

Liebster Award

Super excited to let you all know that I was nominated (twice) for the 2016 Liebster Award by ourlifeoutloud.com and positivelybliss.com. I want to thank these ladies from the bottom of my heart. If you haven’t already, you should totally check out, and follow their blogs!

Anyway, The Liebster Award is a way for bloggers to connect and to support each others development. I’ve been tasked with answering the following questions, and in turn I must nominate a few more bloggers. So here goes:

Why did you start blogging? And When?

I started blogging because it has been a lifelong dream of mine to be a professional writer. My best friend encouraged me to just jump in and start blogging last April.

What would be your last meal?

Sheesh! I try not to think about things like that. I suppose it would probably be some kind of stir-fry.

What would you do if you won the lottery tomorrow?

I’d travel to Australia…finally!

Have you ever traveled outside your home country?

I’m from Brooklyn, NY, USA. I’ve been to the Bahamas, Mexico, Canada, France, and Egypt.

If you could have any super power what would it be?

I’m kind of a nerd so I’ve actually given this some thought before. I’d like to be able to heal people physically, emotionally, and mentally.

What is your favorite season?

Summer by far. I really don’t like being cold, and snow is majorly inconvenient.

What did you last eat?

Yogurt and granola.

Favorite Movie?

It depends on my mood. I love Clueless, Arsenic and Old Lace (my inspiration for my blog’s name), the Departed, or Goodfellas.

Describe the perfect day.

That’s a tough one. I just like being productive. I love having a sense of accomplishment at the end of the day.

If you could change one thing about the world what would it be?

Another tough one. I guess the obvious answers are world hunger, war, or disease. I’d do away with suffering.

What is your go to drink?

Coffee. Definitely coffee.

I’d like to nominate:

I think I’ll ask the same questions as above, except I’d like to add one: What’s your favorite genre of music/ favorite musical artist?

Thank You!!!

Just Me

My coworker snapped this photo of me while we were freezing outside during our lunch break. I asked her to send it to me because I just loved the way the camera picked up the sun rays. Since I started writing this blog, I’ve been paying more attention to pictures. Actually, I think I’ve been paying more attention to all of the little things, all of the details. I’ve been paying more attention to the beauty around us. I look for ways to improve myself, to improve my environment, and to bring as many sun rays as I can to those around me.

It’s been exactly one year since I started this blog and I’m overwhelmed by the love and support I’ve received from all of you. My hope is that over this past year I have brought you something of value. I hope that I’ve helped you in one way or another. Most of all, I hope that you know how much I appreciate you being a part of my life.

The internet is strange in that we don’t hear the sound of each others voices and we can’t see each others facial expressions, yet we know each other and we care for one another. I really want to say thank you to everyone that has stuck with me through this process. I am in awe of your creativity, your passion, and your presence.

If you haven’t already, follow me on Twitter (though I have no idea what I’m doing there!) and send me direct messages if you like. Also, be sure to follow me on Pinterest. I’m always so happy to see what other people are pinning.

I hope that we can stay connected and that we can be a part of this community together. Thank you so much!

Thank You
